Ducting is flexible tubing used to route air between grow tent components.
WHAT IS DUCTING
Grow tent ducting is typically made from flexible aluminum or insulated material and connects inline fans, carbon filters, and exhaust ports. It allows air to be moved efficiently in and out of the grow space.
Ducting comes in various diameters, commonly 4”, 6”, and 8”.
HOW IT’S USED
Growers use ducting to:
– Connect inline fans to carbon filters
– Vent hot air outside the tent or room
– Direct airflow efficiently through the system
Shorter, straighter duct runs improve airflow efficiency.
WHY IT MATTERS
Ducting matters because:
– Proper airflow depends on low resistance
– Poor routing can reduce fan performance
– Efficient ducting helps stabilize temperature and humidity
Bad ducting layouts can negate even powerful fans.
LIMITATIONS & NOTES
Sharp bends, long runs, and cheap ducting increase resistance and noise. Insulated ducting can reduce sound and heat transfer but costs more.
