OSCILLATING FAN
An oscillating fan is a circulation fan used inside a grow tent to keep air moving around plants.
WHAT ARE OSCILLATING FANS?
Oscillating fans move back and forth to create gentle, consistent airflow across the canopy. Unlike inline fans, they do not exchange air in or out of the tent—they circulate air within the space.
They are usually clip-on or pole-mounted inside the tent.
HOW IT’S USED
Growers use oscillating fans to:
– Strengthen plant stems
– Prevent stagnant air pockets
– Reduce humidity buildup on leaves
– Lower the risk of mold and pests
Fans are positioned to move air above and below the canopy without directly blasting plants.
WHY IT MATTERS
Oscillating fans matter because:
– Still air encourages mold and pests
– Plants need movement to grow strong stems
– Even airflow improves temperature and humidity consistency
Good circulation is just as important as exhaust ventilation.
LIMITATIONS & NOTES
Fans aimed directly at plants for long periods can cause wind burn. Fan quality matters—cheap fans often fail or develop noise issues over time.
