Regular seeds are cannabis seeds that can grow into either male or female plants.
WHAT ARE REGULAR SEEDS?
Regular seeds are produced through natural pollination between a male and a female cannabis plant. Because both sets of genetics are present, regular seeds have roughly a 50/50 chance of becoming male or female.
Male plants produce pollen, while female plants produce flowers.
HOW REGULAR SEEDS ARE USED
Regular seeds are commonly used by:
– Breeders creating new genetics
– Growers interested in seed production
– Pheno hunters selecting parent plants
– Growers who want full genetic expression
They are less commonly used for flower-only grows.
WHY IT MATTERS
Regular seeds:
– Preserve natural genetic diversity
– Are required for breeding projects
– Allow selection of strong male plants
– Often represent the original form of a strain
Many craft breeders still work primarily with regular seeds.
LIMITATIONS & NOTES
Male plants must be identified and removed if the goal is flower production. This requires more attention and experience compared to feminized seeds.
